Hinkson Christian Academy in Moscow Russia
8/1/2005 - 6/1/2006
Greetings! This is Paula Kirkland. My daughter, Grace, and I are working in Moscow, Russia, as missionaries with United World Mission. I am teaching grade 6 (as well as some grade 7) at Hinkson Christian Academy. HCA is a missions school with 200+ students from Kindergarten to grade 12 whose parents are missionaries here in Russia. Most of these missionary parents are working in church planting under various mission organizations, reaching the many lost souls in this vast land where there is only one evangelical church for every 30,000 people. Russia is an open field now, since the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1991. It is not a restricted country any longer and we can freely proclaim the message of Jesus Christ without fear. Hinkson Christian Academy was established shortly after the fall of Communism. It is made up of students from all over the world, almost half from Korea, but there are over 14 different nationalities represented here (including a few Canadians now, eh!) Grace-Anne, who is now 13 years old is attending grade 9 here at Hinkson Christian Academy and has already made some good friends. She graduated from Grace Christian Academy in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, last June (2005). Grace Christian Academy (GCA) has granted me a one-year sabbatical in order to serve as a missionary here in Russia. In September of 2006 we expect (Lord willing) to be back in Canada to resume my teaching position at GCA and for Grace-Anne to continue her schooling in a public highschool in Canada. God bless you as you think of us working here on behalf of the church of Jesus Christ.
